Which HeyGen alternative should you try first for product ads?
This guide is for brands and marketers who use HeyGen, or were about to, but mainly need product video ads rather than presenter, training or translated videos. HeyGen makes very good avatar videos, yet it does not start from a product link, launch ads or report ad results, so the HeyGen alternatives for product video ads below were picked for that one job.
Prices checked October 2026. Every price, limit and score comes from the tool pages on AIternative, starting with the HeyGen tool page, and each tool keeps two separate scores: Pricing and Features. The short version:
- Pick Creatify if you want to make, launch and track ads in one tool, and can pay $99/month for the Pro plan that unlocks launching.
- Pick Topview AI if you want the lowest entry price ($8/month, a promo price) and API or MCP access from the first plan.
- Pick JoggAI if you like HeyGen's avatars but want product ad tools on a $29/month plan.
- Pick Tagshop AI or MakeUGC if the shot you need is a creator holding your product: Tagshop is cheaper to start, MakeUGC is built for volume but puts product-in-hand on its $149/month plan.
Why do ad teams look beyond HeyGen?
HeyGen is strong where it is built to be strong. On AIternative it scores Pricing 8.4 and Features 6.8. It has a free plan with 3 videos a month up to 1 minute each and no card, and Creator costs $29/month, or $24/month billed yearly. The gaps show up when the job is a product ad, not a presenter video:
- No product-link start. HeyGen's listed inputs are a script, an image, audio, a PowerPoint or PDF, or a prompt to its Video Agent. URL to video is not listed.
- No ad launch. Its tool page lists no way to send a finished video to Meta or TikTok ads, so you export the file and upload it yourself.
- No ad results. Analytics is not listed, so spend, ROAS and CTR have to live somewhere else.
- Team tools cost extra. Workspace collaboration, roles and the n8n, Make, HubSpot and Zapier integrations sit on Business at $149/month, plus $20 a seat per month.
How did we compare these HeyGen alternatives?
We only looked at tools listed in the AI UGC category on AIternative that have a public entry price and can turn a product or a product link into a video ad. Each one has two scores out of 10 from our public scoring rubric: Pricing and Features. We never add them up, because a tool can be cheap and thin, or capable and expensive. If you want every tool that competes with HeyGen, not only the ad-focused ones, see the full list of HeyGen competitors.
Side by side, with the entry price, the free option and both scores:
- HeyGen, the tool you are leaving: free plan with 3 videos a month; Creator $29/month or $24/month billed yearly; Pricing 8.4, Features 6.8.
- Creatify: free plan with 10 credits and watermarked exports; Starter $39/month; Pricing 5.1, Features 8.3.
- Topview AI: no free plan or trial; Basic $8/month (promo, $18/month list) or $6.7/month billed yearly; Pricing 8, Features 7.6; tagged Cheaper and Better agent.
- JoggAI: free tier of 200 credits that expires after 31 days; Starter $29/month or $24/month billed yearly; Pricing 7.4, Features 7.
- Tagshop AI: no free plan or trial; Starter $29/month or $14/month billed yearly; Pricing 6.1, Features 5.
- MakeUGC: no free plan, a $1 trial; Start up $59/month (promo, $89/month list); Pricing 4, Features 5.
Is Creatify the right HeyGen alternative if you launch ads?
Creatify suits DTC brands and performance marketers who want one tool to build, launch and measure video ads. You give it a product link, and its Creative Agent and Ad Flow templates build the ad with AI actors: 300 on Starter, 1,500 on Pro.
What it does better than HeyGen: it starts from the product page, and on Pro it launches ads to Meta, TikTok and AppLovin with A/B testing, then reports spend, ROAS and CTR per creative. Pro also adds a competitor ad tracker and an MCP server for Claude and ChatGPT. HeyGen lists none of these.
Cost to start: a free plan with 10 credits, enough for up to 2 video ads or 20 image ads, with a watermark on exports. Its pricing page does not say clearly whether the free credits renew each month. Starter is $39/month and Pro is $99/month. Scores: Pricing 5.1, Features 8.3.
The honest weakness: the parts that make Creatify worth switching for, Ad Launcher, MCP and the ad tracker, start on Pro, not Starter. If you stay on Starter you pay $10/month more than HeyGen Creator for an ad maker that cannot launch ads, and the page does not say how many video ads 100 Starter credits make.
Are Topview AI or JoggAI cheaper than HeyGen for avatar ads?
Topview AI suits solo marketers and small teams who test lots of ad ideas and want to drive the tool from code or an AI agent. Its Video Agent builds ads from a script, a reference video or a product URL, it has a product avatar and 5,000+ public avatars, and API and MCP access come with every individual plan, Basic included.
Where it beats HeyGen is the entry price. Basic is $8/month, a promo price against an $18/month list price, or $6.7/month billed yearly, next to $29/month for HeyGen Creator. It carries the site's Cheaper and Better agent tags. Scores: Pricing 8, Features 7.6.
The weakness is how little $8 buys. Basic gives 50 credits a month, which its tool page puts at about 33 seconds of Seedance 2.5 video at 720p or about 250 images. There is no free plan or trial, the price is promotional, Topview says it may change credit costs without notice, and scheduling, publishing and ad launch are not listed.
JoggAI suits marketers who like HeyGen's avatar workflow but want product ad tools on the entry plan. It makes avatar videos and also has URL to video, a product video shoot, a Product Avatar and an AI twin. Its API, MCP server and ChatGPT plugin all draw on one credit pool.
Starter costs $29/month or $24/month billed yearly, the same as HeyGen Creator, and its tool page lists about 1,440 minutes of avatar video a year on that plan. The free tier is 200 credits, about 1 minute of avatar video, and it expires after 31 days. Scores: Pricing 7.4, Features 7.
The weakness: on Starter each avatar video is capped at 1 minute, and 5 minutes on Creator at $49/month, while HeyGen Creator allows videos up to 30 minutes. For a 30-second ad that rarely matters, but it rules out longer product demos. Scheduling, publishing and analytics are not listed either.
How do you choose a HeyGen alternative for ads?
Start from the job, then check the price:
- If you want to launch ads and see ROAS in the same tool, go with Creatify, and budget for Pro at $99/month.
